At UniUni, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact and investing in green technologies.
Here are some
highlights on our journey to a more sustainable future for all.
01
Carbon
Offsetting
UniUni offsets greenhouse gas emissions from last-mile deliveries in Canada and the United States by investing in third-party verified carbon-offset projects. Across Canada and the United States, UniUni partners with
for GHG measurement, reduction, and carbon-offsetting solutions. Projects include the B.C. Greenhouse Biomass to Energy Project in Abbotsford, British Columbia, the Ontario Greenhouse Biomass to Energy Project, in Leamington and Flamborough, Ontario, and three projects in Arkansas, Illinois and Kansas, which deploy advanced nitrous-oxide-abatement technologies to mitigate emissions from nitric acid production, a critical process in the manufacturing of fertilizer.
UniUni partners with
to strengthen its sustainability initiatives through verified reforestation projects. For every 500 last-mile kilometres driven across Canada and the United States, we plant a tree, turning everyday deliveries into meaningful climate action. In Canada, this collaboration is helping restore forests in British Columbia, where landscapes are brought back to life after devastating wildfires. In the United States, UniUni and veritree are contributing to the renewal of forests in California, where Rim Fire scorched more than 250,000 acres, and in Michigan, where red pine reforestation strengthens ecosystems, sequesters carbon, and supports rural communities. Together, these projects not only restore critical ecosystems, but also create lasting benefits for people and the planet.

Reducing
GHG Emissions
Our real-time route-optimization software reduces fuel consumption by maximizing efficiency based on mileage, weather conditions and traffic. UniUni’s delivery model uses vehicles already available (no massive new fleet development!) and allows us to adjust to surges in parcel volumes and ensure drivers’ vehicles are always full.
EVs and low-emission vehicles are increasingly being used by registered delivery drivers to reduce GHG emissions and air pollution. In 2023, UniUni partnered with
to add all-electric delivery vans in Vancouver and Montreal for its mid-mile transportation.

Our
Roadmap
20

Partner with Carbonzero to measure the GHG emissions from last-mile deliveries in Canada, and offset 100% of emissions releases through third-party verified offset projects in Canada.
Partner with
and pledge to plant a tree for every 200 mid-mile kilometres driven. Support the restoration of the Cariboo Region of British Columbia, and contribute to the rewilding of the area.
20
25
As of September, expanded our carbon offsetting initiative to include 100% of last-mile deliveries in both Canada and the United States moving forward, in partnership with
.
. For every 500 last-mile kilometres driven across Canada and the United States, one tree will be planted, creating tangible, verifiable impact in the fight against climate change.
