We are seeking an experienced and talented Product Designer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing our products’ usability and driving the overall design process. Your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand users’ goals and pain points through discovery and research, translating complex problems into clear solutions.
  • Visualize and prototype intended solutions at various levels of fidelity, including high-level wireframes, conceptual designs, design presentations and detailed specifications.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including development, operations and marketing team across North America.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in UX design, applying them to enhance products’usability and user experience.

Qualifications and Experience：

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar software.
  • Excellent understanding of design principles, usability best practices, and current design trends.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to tackle complex design challenges.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Passion for creating exceptional user experiences and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the product owner and other Dev team members, designing, developing, testing, and deploying new features and functionalities with industrial best practices.
  • Take ownership of the solution design and development for the critical components
  • Evaluate, implement, and enforce software development best practices
  • Participate in the technical support, troubleshooting and root cause investigation
  • Participate in the system integration by providing technical insights, including estimation and technical proposals
  • Investigating and fixing bugs, refactoring, and improving performance.
  • Mentoring less-senior developers on the team and providing thoughtful, constructive feedback on pull requests and design documents.
  • Participating in Agile / Scrum development processes.
  • Developing and maintaining the essential technical documents.
  • Offering technical support for web applications and mobile apps.
  • Keeping mindset of continuous learning.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in backend development
  • Proficiency in designing, developing, and testing software in PHP Laravel Framework; open to using multiple languages
  • Experience in PHP Laravel or core Java and implementing solutions that handle high availability and concurrency with low latency requirements.
  • Experience in MYSQL and able to optimize SQL queries performance.
  • Experience with Docker and knowing K8S as a bonus.
  • Experience designing and developing applications in an Amazon Web Services and make use of Google APIs
  • Experience deploying and supporting software across the entire Continuous Delivery life-cycle as a plus
  • Sound SDLC and practices and tooling experience – version control, CI/CD, and configuration management tools
  • Ability to reason about performance, security, and process interactions in complex distributed systems
  • Excellent communications skills, with the ability to collaborate well with both technical and non-technical audiences, both written and orally
  • The ability to understand and effectively debug both new and existing software
  • Experience meeting demands for high availability, low latency, and scale
  • Experience working with remote / distributed teams and projects

Compensation and Benefits

The hiring range for this position ranges from CA$90,000 – CA$110,000. Your actual level and salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Be part of an agile development team and participate in sprint planning and story grooming
  • Test web application or mobile application to find and report defects
  • Define and automate test cases
  • Write the code for the automate test cases
  • Conduct code reviews and improve the quality of automation code
  • Contribute to decisions in the architecture and design of test frameworks
  • Support the release of software
  • Learn about our customers, products, systems, and tools
  • Learn about test automation frameworks

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • In Computer Science or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in QA automation test
  • Proficiency with one or two programming languages, such as Java or Python
  • An aptitude for problem finding and solving
  • An interest in software quality and in quality assurance and testing
  • Knowledge of REST API, MySQL, and React JS
  • Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming
  • Understanding of Behavior-Driven Development is an asset
  • Strong learning ability for the new technologies
  • Mandarin is an asset
